Heck, we live in SW Florida. It has been in the 80's for a few months now.<script async="" src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({
google_ad_client: "ca-pub-4550203257577835",
enable_page_level_ads: true
});
</script>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
But school is almost out for both of my kids! Ahhhh.... true summer, right? My son finished school this last week. And my daughter finishes this week.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
But now comes the problem of what to do with them! I strongly believe that kids should be able to entertain themselves. That is NOT to say that I don't want to plan fun things for them throughout the summer, but it does mean that I will not be their play thing all summer, every day. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I recently read an article that stated that children should be bored once in a while, especially today's children. And you know, at first I was taken aback, but then I thought about it more. Yes! Children should learn how to use their imaginations and brains to entertain themselves. My mom didn't play with my all the time. In fact, I don't remember her playing with me at all. She would take me places, and plan events, but she never got down on the floor and played with me.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
What's wrong with that? I think absolutely nothing!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I sit back, often, and notice the differences in my children. Both are incredibly imaginative, however, my son plays pretend and entertains himself more often than my daughter. My daughter is getting to that age where technology is becoming more a part of her life. I don't want her tied to her devices all the time, but I can see value in some of what she uses her devices for. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So what am I going to do this summer, especially with my kids? I do plan to take them to the beaches, both here in Florida and up in Michigan, as we will be spending about a month up there. I plan to take them bowling, maybe for some ice cream, to the parks, mini golfing, and maybe a zoo or something. I don't have a lot of time here in FL to do some of the things I want to do with them. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I also have been pinning a bunch of ideas of what to do with my kids, activities to do at home. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
What are your plans for this summer?</div>

Probably because my children's birthdays are coming up. My little man's birthday is a week from tomorrow, April 29th! YIKES! He is turning 4. It feels like he was just turning 1! He is growing up, but still is so small. He asked me in the car today how he could grow up faster. And my only answer was that I didn't want him to grow up faster.<div><br></div><div>I want him to stay the same sweet, caring, although frustrating at times, spunky self! </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-c2SIbBCSgEs/VxkQTcRWDYI/AAAAAAAAAio/-BVtg3HoxHE/s640/blogger-image-1382985509.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-c2SIbBCSgEs/VxkQTcRWDYI/AAAAAAAAAio/-BVtg3HoxHE/s640/blogger-image-1382985509.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Anyway, mostly I've been thinking about my daughter. She'll be 9 in the end of May. This is such a weird age. I can see her trying to be older and more mature, and there are times I do wonder where my little girl has gone. But everyone once in a while, I get to catch a glimpse of my little girl. She is still there.</div><div><br></div><div>Sometimes...</div><div><br></div><div>I remember this time in my life. When I wanted to be older, but I also wanted to play with my toys. I can see, even when she is with her friends, they still want to play with their Monster High dolls, and Barbies, but then they are all starting to want to use technology, get cell phones, iPads and tablets. </div><div><br></div><div>I have seen it with one of my friend's daughters as well. She still likes her My Little Ponies, but is trying desperately to be older. </div><div><br></div><div>I remember it being very confusing, but also exciting. And now, it is exciting, and very scary to be going through it on the other side. To be witnessing her growing up from a parent's prospective... I'm sure my mom felt the same way when I was my daughter's age.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BsSgerF7Qs8/VxkQSlKXOSI/AAAAAAAAAik/3VocPXHfWoc/s640/blogger-image-1274145116.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BsSgerF7Qs8/VxkQSlKXOSI/AAAAAAAAAik/3VocPXHfWoc/s640/blogger-image-1274145116.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div><div>So where do we go from here? I don't want to baby her, and I do want to give her more freedoms, but I also scared of what is out in the world for her and excited all at the same time. </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-uIhOVFlI-xg/VxkQRxS6ReI/AAAAAAAAAig/rEN2OCqY_OI/s640/blogger-image--1085856738.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-uIhOVFlI-xg/VxkQRxS6ReI/AAAAAAAAAig/rEN2OCqY_OI/s640/blogger-image--1085856738.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div><div>I just hope I am doing something right with her... And I do catch glimpses that I am.</div><div><br></div><div>Did you have a child who is on the verge of the pre-teen years? A few days late. But hey, life happens. And it has been happening a lot to me lately. I am not ready to share, but once I am, I will. I promise.<br />
<br />
So what does 2016 look like for you? Did you make your New Year's Resolutions?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7EL2gT6qKKQ/VorVQGGa3bI/AAAAAAAAAhU/1-IwHflsmeA/s1600/download.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7EL2gT6qKKQ/VorVQGGa3bI/AAAAAAAAAhU/1-IwHflsmeA/s400/download.jpg" /></a></div>
In the past, I haven't wanted to make any, because I wasn't great at follow through. (In case you couldn't tell by the numerous posts about how I promise to be around more often. Hey, I'm human.) But follow through is something I have been working on. And I am getting better at it.<br />
<br />
Anyway, so I didn't necessarily make any resolutions for 2016 on New Year's Day. But I had made them before New Year's Day. Of course, I want to lose weight, like most do, get healthy... yadda yadda yadda. But I've been working on getting healthy for a while now. I am seeing small results.<br />
<br />
I have resolved, however, that 2016 will be my best year ever. Big changes are on my horizon. Not only in my personal life, but in my business. There is an energy surrounding us right now... What can I say? I can actually feel these changes happening.<br />
<br />
This past year, I have worked harder than I have in a long time. And I enjoyed every minute of it. I have met new, amazing friends, and strengthened old friendships. But this next year is going to bring me to places I have never been.<br />
<br />
So some of the things that this year will have for me are that I will be running another half marathon at Disney. I can't wait, but then again I can. Such conflict about this. I plan to further my business and actually accomplish what I've been wishing for for many years. And I will post many pictures throughout my journey. I also resolve to be a happier person, to be more involved with my kids, and make a whole lot of new memories with them. We made a lot this past year, but this next year will bring so many more.<br />
<br />
So tell me what you are looking forward to in this new year. Have you made any resolutions?<br />

Just in time for us to enjoy about two weeks of warmer temps and then we head back south where it is hotter than heck. What can I say? <div><br></div><div>So we fully intend to take advantage of these warmer temps. Today we are hitting the beach. I haven't been to the beach up here since my parents owned the other house further south than here. </div><div><br></div><div>We used to live right on Lake Michigan, which was awesome. And our summers and weekends from about May through September were spent at the beach in front of our house and on our boat. We used to take boat rides, waterski (okay, that was my sister and our neighbor, but I was in the boat driving or spotting), tubing, swimming, riding jetskis... doing what any other good Michigander did. enojying the outdoors.</div><div><br></div><div>The good news is that here, my parents' boat is right out front of our house (or back... I will never get ued to that. We used to call the Lake front, the front of our house and the road side, the back.). But our "beach" has been taken over by weeds. The lake we are on is so different than Lake Michigan. </div><div><br></div><div>It is smaller, but just as beautiful. But we have snapping turtles, and leeches, and other things that are closer to our shore here. So swimming isn't really an option.</div><div><br></div><div>Anyway, I digress. The best summer memories for me were spent hanging out with my friends, having bonfires, playing on our boats or jetskis.... in essence, just being kids. I hope my kids can appreciate and enjoy this house, like we did the other house we owned. </div><div><br></div><div>Here's to summer finally arriving... and to making amazing memories.</div><div><br></div><div>What are your favorite memories from the summer?</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15131926332094427070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4575004781212679247.post-59713408506606748612015-06-25T10:48:00.001-05:002015-07-24T11:35:32.358-05:00Allergies, pollen, dust, oh my!So I have continued to use my essential oils, but it hasn't helped. I am still taking my allergy medicine plus Tylenol Sinus just to have a somewhat normal nose. <div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-E_BQdbY1Bx8/VYwjWGvV1JI/AAAAAAAAAfM/kCqGN9pgCwo/s640/blogger-image--1681704680.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-E_BQdbY1Bx8/VYwjWGvV1JI/AAAAAAAAAfM/kCqGN9pgCwo/s640/blogger-image--1681704680.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Anyway, I was talking to a good friend of mine and she mentioned her daughter, who is maybe 2, just got diagnosed with allergies as well. So they bought a diffuser, and use the same mixture as I do, peppermint, lavender, and lemon, and diffuse it for her. She said it has cleared her up completely. </div><div><br></div><div>So I am off to find a diffuser, in hopes that it will help!</div><div><br></div><div>I am not giving up on essential oils, but I just don't know if the topical method is good for me, for my allergies.</div><div><br></div><div>Update 7/24:</div><div>I still haven't bought a diffuseer, and kind of gave up on the essential oils for allergies, until I get one. But I am not completely giving up.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15131926332094427070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4575004781212679247.post-17703929269966797592015-06-24T18:33:00.001-05:002015-06-24T20:02:06.964-05:00Almost New Years Eve!So our Mary Kay year goes from July 1 - June 30. I am not sure it is working. And I'm not sure that I am doin it correctly. <div><br></div><div>This is why I haven't gone full force with essential oils. I don't feel like I know how to use them properly. I did have another brand of essential oils' rep tell me to use one of their blends, for a totally different ailment, back to back to back... As in put it on, wait a few minutes, put it on again, and repeat. Now, I want to believe in them. I want them to work. I am not a person who likes taking medicines. </div><div><br></div><div>But so far, I am disappointed. They haven't helped my allergies yet. In fact, I've had to add another medicine to make it through my day normally. So I am taking my Allegra, Tylenol Sinus, and using these essential oils.</div><div><br></div><div>So weigh in... Who uses them? How do you use them? What brand? Do you diffuse, use them topically, or ingest them?</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15131926332094427070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4575004781212679247.post-44333664356625116592015-06-20T09:18:00.001-05:002015-06-20T09:18:23.340-05:00I'm jumping in...So my essential oils from Jade Bloom arrived yesterday. Lol</div><div><br></div><div>I am not 100% sold on ingesting these, but it does say on the website that they are safe for ingesting. I will be applying them topically. I also hear that infusing them is good, and maybe one day I will dive into infusing them. But for now, I'm taking the easy route.</div><div><br></div><div>Have you used essential oils? Doesn't sound as accomplished as some out there, but I will wiring this throughout my trip up north (as we southerners says). <br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So, a little background, I have an 8 year old girl and a 3 year old boy. My hubby is stationed in DC, and we don't live with him, at the moment.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Just a side note, I can't stand when people assume that we are getting divorced. We aren't, not that it is anyone's business by my husband's and my own. Sometimes military families have to be separated, whether voluntarily or not. Our's was voluntary, but it doesn't make it any easier.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Okay, so back to my journey. The kids and I are going to spend some time up north with family for the summer. I used to spend my summers along Lake Michigan at our family summer home. It is still a magical place to me. Where else do you have gorgeous beaches, along a freshwater lake that seems as big as an ocean... Well, you can't see across it anyway. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now, it is a bit different, because we are on a different lake, although it does feed into "the Lake" (Lake Michigan). Now I can see across my lake, but that's okay. I still love being there.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So, I'm sure in the next few days, I will become more and more stressed, as I realize there is WAY more than I thought I had to do to get ready. But we will be fine... At least, that is what I am telling myself! <br />
<br />
So I started this post before we left. And you know what? We made it... in one piece... and without too much angst.<br />
<br />
Seriously, my kids turned into angels in the car... okay, angels is going a bit far. But my 3 year old, who is a handful and all boy, actually didn't do too badly in the car.<br />
<br />
Both kids had a DVD player, and watched them, with head phones! Unheard of! <br />
<br />
The first day we drove for only about 5-6 hours. Not too bad. And I took the kids to the pool when we got to our hotel. The second day was a long day, but it went quickly. And we stopped at my Aunt's house in Cincinnati. We spent 1 day and 2 nights there. It was a great break.<br />
<br />
And we arrived in Michigan, in one piece, without being too angry at each other. Now the kids are enjoying the lawn, the lake and fishing. We plan to visit the beach, hang out with our cousins, visiting all sorts of tourist places, and just plain relaxing.<br />
<br />
Let the summer begin!</div>

<br />
I know outward appearances don't matter too much, but I also know that when we feel good about our outward appearance, especially if it coincides with our inner self, we are more confident, which just makes life better. It makes me happier, not sure about you. <br />
<br />
Anyway, so I am always talking about how I eat cleanly, well, most of the time. No one is perfect, let's be real here. And I did for a long time. But my nutrition had gone overboard in the last few months, between cheese, wine, and sugar, I just felt gross. So I decided to take it into my own hands and change it.<br />
<br />
A good friend, if not best friend, found this book and this system. So I read the book. It made sense.<br />
<br />
The book, "Why Kids Make You Fat and How to Get Your Body Back" by Mark Macdonald, made sense. I liked what he was saying and I liked what I read about the program. They, to me, took a real life approach to nutrition. I do feel like our society is going down a slippery slope. And I had an unhealthy relationship with food, and wine. And by the wine part, I mean if I had a trying day, or long day, or the kids acted up, or whatever, I would have a glass or two of wine a night. I decided I needed to "dry" out. Don't get me wrong, once I feel better and feel like I am on my way to better health, I will indulge in my favorites, like wine and chocolate. Sugar was also a big thing for me. I was eating way too much of it. So I cut them out... for a week.<br />
<br />
So far, it has been a LONG week. But I have felt better. My week is up on Sat.<br />
<br />
Back to this program. It is all about eating in 3's... protein, carbs (but good carbs like fruits and veggies) and healthy fats. Whole foods, good foods, not processed. So it seemed to fit into what I wanted my nutrition to look like.<br />
<br />
One thing I have found, for myself, that I'm not sure it is enough food. The book says to throw what we all know about calories out the window. So we aren't counting calories, or macros, but instead eating portion sizes. This part fits with the <a href="https://www.teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/BCP21D160?referringrepid=372462" target="_blank">21 Day Fix</a> (affiliate link) that I love so much! Similarities are that it is recommended to eat every 3 hours, and to eat smaller meals. Where it differs is that at each meal you are to eat your 3's, but the portion sizes are considerably smaller. <br />
<br />
21 Day Fix focuses on eating enough fruits and veggies. This program says one lean protein (chicken breast, turkey breast, ground chicken breast, ground turkey breast, etc.), one carb (fruit or veggie) and one good fat (nuts, seeds, avocado, etc.). There are some "free" foods on this program, but they are mostly herbs, and lettuce, spinach, pretty much anything you'd make a salad with. That's it. Easy, because meal planning has been easy. But difficult, because I'm not sure I am getting enough. Oh and I almost forgot, no caffeine... well if you can do it. Some people do "detox" off the caffeine. I personally do not. But I do miss my morning coffee and all it's horribly delicious chemical goodness.<br />
<br />
There are supplements that you are supposed to take. But you need to read the book to get those and the dosages.<br />
<br />
The first two days, I hit the afternoon slump BIG time! As in falling asleep in my chair, hit the slump. I am feeling better.<br />
<br />
I do not know if I have lost weight, but I definitely feel less bloated, and day by day, I am having less cravings for bad things. <br />
<br />
I went out for lunch with my mom yesterday, and had a hard time finding something I would enjoy eating and was on plan. WOW! I never really thought about that before. So I cheated, a bit. I had whole grain bread. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention no breads, carbs - like rice, etc, salt or cheese. All of which I love.<br />
<br />
But don't fret, you do slowly add these back in, in the later phases of this nutrition plan. It is supposed to be an 8 week run for health, which leads you to making a lifestyle change.<br />
<br />
So my friend who introduced me to it, lost 12 or 13 lbs in her first week. Yes, the book acknowledges that this is mostly water weight. After the first week, you move into the fat burning phase. You get to add back in other foods, and even a cheat meal, or off plan meal. And finally the third phase is supposed to be your forever phase, with life happening when it happens.<br />
<br />
So she has continued to lose another 2-3 lbs in the last week or two. She has been on this plan for about 3-4 weeks. I think it is fantastic that she isn't starving on this plan. I am... which is why I don't know if it is the exact program for me. Does this mean I am stopping completely? No... I am just modifying it. And once this first week is over, which is what the book suggests, I will be adding back in exercise. I have a few races I want to run and am thinking about pursuing a certification for a particular exercise program that I have fallen in love with.<br />
<br />
So tell me, what kind of program do you follow? Do you meal plan?Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15131926332094427070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4575004781212679247.post-58711299327925486682015-06-02T13:15:00.003-05:002015-06-02T13:15:44.732-05:00Let's talk essential oilsI don't know about you, but I am the type of person who HATES, (did I say that loudly enough?), to take medicines. I can't tell you why, and I know sometimes they are necessary, but overall, I think that our society is quick to medicate.<br />
<br />
So, I've been on a search for something more natural. And walks in essential oils into my life. <br />
<br />
It feels like there was this HUGE boom, overnight, of people using essential oils, and people joining companies that sell oils. I am SO not against direct sales of any kind, trust you me. I know I can outfit my home and even grocery shop through direct sales, and then clothe yourself. You can buy EVERYTHING through direct sales and I love it!<br />
<br />
I love it because it helps keep parents home, it offers a way for people to better themselves, to feel good about their lives, to own something when they might have felt they couldn't. I know, I participate in them and support my fellow consultants/coaches/reps (whatever you may wish to be called).<br />
<br />
But I digress... Sorry, not sorry! <br />
<br />
Anyway, I have tried out different essential oils, and want to learn more, especially for ones to keep me and my family healthy (including my allergies). I am still super green when it comes to oils, and how to use them. But I am forever reading, and learning.<br />
<br />
In the meantime, I did find a company that I feel has quality oils. Not that I feel that one company is better than the other. I know I have thought that some of the prices were a bit high, but again, I am learning all about them. <br />
<br />
Please check out this company (affiliate link) and tell me what you think!<br />
<br />

<br />
So tell me, what is your favorite essential oil? Do you use them? Regularly?Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15131926332094427070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4575004781212679247.post-68100598624046055882015-04-06T15:16:00.001-05:002015-04-06T15:16:11.075-05:00April Product of the MonthSo April is here already. I want to workout, but usually I get the motivation to do so late at night or when I have no time to work out. And I just can't seem to get myself out the door to run. I want to run. I even signed up for a 5K color run, but it still hasn't motivated me to get moving again.<br>
<br>
Part of my issue is that I know I can do a 5K with not too much training, and I know that they don't usually time this run. This is for fun. And I hope the friends that are joining me will see it as such.<br>
<br>
I do want to sign up for more races. I really do. But Disney has spoiled me.<br>
<br>
It's all about that bling now! No, seriously... no finisher medal, probably no race for me. <div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-yQ1h2c8CGSo/VPtZ4lirJ-I/AAAAAAAAAck/1-kjkk9AMsE/s640/blogger-image--1139218728.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-yQ1h2c8CGSo/VPtZ4lirJ-I/AAAAAAAAAck/1-kjkk9AMsE/s640/blogger-image--1139218728.jpg"></a></div><br>
<br>
I mean who wouldn't love to have these around their neck?<br>
<br>
Anyway, I also really want to start lifting and doing more cross training. I want to get faster. I have goals.<br>
<br>
Part of my issue is that I don't really know what I am doing. Going to the gym intimidates me.<br>
<br>
What about you? How do you keep yourself motivated?<br>
<br>
See, I am seeing results, well I have seen some since even the beginning of the year. I am down 6-7 lbs and I'm not sure about inches. But my clothes are fitting differently. <br>
<br>
It does excited me. But now, I want to tone. I want to work on my arms, legs, abs, etc.</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15131926332094427070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4575004781212679247.post-44251127297628392422015-03-02T06:33:00.001-06:002015-03-02T06:33:48.998-06:00I am a part of a company...That is moving and shaking and setting records. I can't believe it. I love every minute that I spend working my business.<div><br></div><div>The company did it again. In years past, the company has offered a bonus or special for starting your business in April. But this year, the offered it in March! That's right... It is going on for the moment! </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-CY31XpqWpmM/VPRYp2z-0TI/AAAAAAAAAcA/ogjcRcNgIpk/s640/blogger-image--1384078768.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-CY31XpqWpmM/VPRYp2z-0TI/AAAAAAAAAcA/ogjcRcNgIpk/s640/blogger-image--1384078768.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>Amazing! I am so energized about his offer, and I can't even take advantage of it.</div><div><br></div><div>So what does it mean? It means you can get your starter kit, with over $400 worth of retail sized products, plus training materials and samples, for only $75! That is a 25% savings. Plus, there's more when you decide to join me, I have a sign on bonus worth $34 and much more.</div><div><br></div><div>What can this do for you? It has changed so many lives. Provided money for bills, to save, to buy that house or send their kids to college/private school, to dig someone out of debt, to provide for your family, your parents... The list goes on. This opportunity has provided not only monetary gains, but personal development, confidence, personal growth & so much more.</div><div><br></div><div>So I want to ask this... What will change if you try? What will change if you don't?</div><div><br></div><div>What do you want for your life.</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15131926332094427070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4575004781212679247.post-15473480778816466802015-02-25T10:56:00.001-06:002015-02-25T11:01:21.169-06:00My weekend recapGo check out my health & fitness blog for a post about my runDisney weekend!<br />

Thanksgiving came & went... My birthday came & went... Christmas came & went. And that's where it all started.<div><br></div><div>My mother-in-law was due to arrive at my house on Dec 23, and she never made it. My hubby & I were so nervous about her driving by herself anyway. But she never made it to the road. I hate to say thankfully she never made it on the road, but I really do want to see the good in it. </div><div><br></div><div>Anyway, so the past month has been a blur.</div><div><br></div><div>Then on Monday, I had to make the decision to put my dog down. She was getting old, and I knew it, but it doesn't make it any easier. </div><div><br></div><div>I just feel an emptiness. I can't explain it. She was not the first dog in my life, ever, but she hit me harder than any of the other dogs we have had in my life. </div><div><br></div><div>I miss her curling up at my feet, greeting me at the door, laying at the foot of my bed at night, and taking walks in the morning. I just miss her sweet face.</div><div><br></div><div>Everyone keeps asking me when I'm going to get another dog. I don't know if I am ever going to. It's not that I don't love dogs, I do. I also just don't want to go through it again.</div><div><br></div><div>2014 was one heck of a year. We lost my father-in-law, moved, spent the summer up north. My daughter went to over night camp for the first time. We visited my hubby in DC. We traveled around FL. We lost my mother-in-law. Not all of 2014 was bad, but I am ready for great things to come our way. My family could really use some happy events going on.</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks for listening to me ramble. Sometimes we just need to get out what is in our hearts.</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15131926332094427070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4575004781212679247.post-34362500603759901672014-12-15T14:19:00.000-06:002014-12-15T14:19:01.843-06:00Kiss & tell... This is my favorite time of the year. People are nicer, the world just seems so much happier... And it's also my birthday!<div><br></div><div>It all starts with Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving, because of the food, the Macy's parade, getting together with family & friends, and the fact that it starts off the holiday season!</div><div><br></div><div>Inbeween Thanksgiving & Christmas is my birthday! Birthdays have always been special to me, doesn't matter if it is mine, or yours or his... It is a special day. Sure other people share it with you, but it is a day all about you. A time for family & friends to get together, share a good meal and some cake! Who doesn't like cake?!?</div><div><br></div><div>Then comes Christmas. From the smells to the decorations to the food and giving, I love it all. It isn't about the presents I receive any more... But watching my children's faces as they help decorate, bake cookies, see the tree all lit up... So many traditions. Again, I love Christmas dinner for many of the same reasons I love Thanksgiving dinner! </div><div><br></div><div>When my grandmother was alive, she would host Christmas Eve. We always had ham with all the fixings. We weren't allowed to go into the living room, where the Christmas tree, because we weren't allowed to see the"empty boxes". Yes, the adults in my family convinced us that the boxes were empty until Santa came to fill them much later that night. So we would drive home, my sister & I counting Christmas lights on houses and singing songs. We'd go to bed.</div><div><br></div><div>The next morning we would wake up early, of course! And we weren't allowed to wake up our parents until 7 am. But we would go downstairs and check out all the presents. Santa always left us one present that wasn't wrapped, so we would often look at it, or play with it. We were also allowed to look in our stockings. </div><div><br></div><div>After opening presents and eating some breakfast at our house, we would load up our car. We always started at my Grandmother's house. We'd open more presents with our cousins, eat brunch, which always had ham salad. My grandmother would make it from the left over ham from Christmas Eve. We would then head to what felt like a million other houses, and end our day at my Grandma's house. </div><div><br></div><div>It was always a long, but wonderful day, because we spent it all with our family.</div><div><br></div><div>Things of course have changed throughout the years, but essentially everything was the same. Now, I get to share a lot of these traditions with my children and my mother-in-law.</div><div><br></div><div>What's your favorite holiday memory?</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15131926332094427070noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4575004781212679247.post-33881570248895239802014-11-26T12:56:00.000-06:002014-11-26T12:56:37.668-06:00Happy Thanksgiving (a day early!)I have been MIA, I know I know... story of my blog. But this time for good reason. I have had some health issues lately. Nothing serious, just having gallbladder surgery on Tuesday to get it removed. It isn't serious, right now. But if I do let it go, it could get worse. And I don't want to have it rupture on me.<br />
<br />
Anyway, this isn't a boo hoo, poor me post. I promise!<br />
<br />
Thanksgiving is here! Yay! But where did 2014 go????<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://img.inspiringwallpapers.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/new-year-2014-graphic-730x400.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://img.inspiringwallpapers.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/new-year-2014-graphic-730x400.jpg" height="175" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This year, I am thankful for living in a warmer climate! Yup I said it, I don't like cold. I like warm weather, sand between my toes and wearing a light jacket once a year. I am also thankful for my family. My kids are awesome people, well turning into them. Don't get me wrong, they have their moments, but it is pretty cool to watch them experience the world around them. I am also thankful for my hubby and many others who selflessly give their lives to the armed forces. They protect our freedoms, and fight for our country. I hope that those that aren't able to be home for the holidays know that many of us at home at praying and thinking about them and a safe return for all of our troops. I am also thankful to be in relative good health.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
I love Thanksgiving because I love to eat. Yup, I said it... I love to eat! I also love the traditions my family has. We wake up, eat some breakfast and park our buns for a few hours in front of the tv watching the Macy's Parade! My hubby doesn't understand our obsession with it. But whatever... I never asked him to understand it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://crossfitpetroglyph.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/turkey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://crossfitpetroglyph.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/turkey.jpg" height="320" width="299" /></a></div>
<br />
Anyway, we also then ate dinner early, and enjoy time with family. Nothing exciting. We aren't Black Friday shoppers either... or should I say Thanksgiving evening shoppers.<br />
<br />
It is insane to me how many stores advertise their "Black Friday" sales starting on Thanksgiving! Seriously, I feel badly for all the retails workers that have to work on Thanksgiving. They are being taken from their time with family to work for a sale that I'm sure if no fun.<br />
<br />
With that... I have decided this year to turn Black Friday PINK! Yup! Pink! I am holding a private sale for all my customers and their families... on my website! No crazy crowds... no pushing, no shoving, no waiting in line for HOURS on end.<br />
<br />
Here are my specials:<br />

<br /></div>

PLUS, for every Timewise Repair Set purchased, you will get a FREE Skinvigorate brush (this special is good until Dec 1). AND, for every purchase of $100 (before discount), you will get an extra 5% off. For every purchase of $200 (before discount), you will get an extra 10% off! Some things I hadn't revealed were that the hubby & I decided to geobachelor this tour (when he lives at his new duty station & we live some where else). We didn't do the traditional geobach, because the kids & I moved to FLORIDA to be with family. So life has been busy, difficult, amazing, fun, sad... Everything that life is, but a thousand fold. I SO respect any single mom or dad out there. It is not easy to be everything to your child or children. Anyway, this is not a boo hoo post. I promise!<div><br></div><div>Let's talk holidays. What are you buying for your kiddos? What's the hot toy this year?</div><div><br></div><div>I'm not sure what we are getting for either, Little man or Cutie, but I know what my kids like. Cutie asked for an Easy Bake Oven, a Kindle, Monster High dolls, books.... The list goes on. She knows she won't get everything on her list, and I don't think she remembers half of what she's asked for. </div><div><br></div><div>Little man is too little to really understand making a list, but he loves Mickey Mouse, cars, trains, anything boy like, and we will probably get him a water table. He is an active little man, and typical little boy.</div><div><br></div><div>What are some other things that people are looking at? </div><div><br></div><div>I am looking for new running shoes, new running gear, maybe some new clothes... Really not exciting stuff. But I also have the added pressure of my birthday being two weeks before Christmas. So I have to come up with double the gift ideas. </div><div><br></div><div>I am excited to run this promotion again this year. I can't wait to honor as many seniors in my community as I can. I am hoping my kiddos will be able to deliver the gifts to the residents and spread some cheer to them. </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-0ZGS9jjj2LY/VGNotnyVgMI/AAAAAAAAATY/H7XEhfbTZ1U/s640/blogger-image-1970732762.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-0ZGS9jjj2LY/VGNotnyVgMI/AAAAAAAAATY/H7XEhfbTZ1U/s640/blogger-image-1970732762.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div><div>I have several gift sets available from my inventory, and also have gifts available from other companies! </div><div><br></div><div>What is the one thing you really want this year?</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Interested in making a little extra money this holiday season? <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-KW03KTa91LY/VGNp6bOOy4I/AAAAAAAAATs/pF6mGhUP4ew/s640/blogger-image-612469604.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-KW03KTa91LY/VGNp6bOOy4I/AAAAAAAAATs/pF6mGhUP4ew/s640/blogger-image-612469604.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-jhmQ7RkIAwQ/VGNosojL4TI/AAAAAAAAATQ/hdPomOCB65E/s640/blogger-image-1564868726.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-jhmQ7RkIAwQ/VGNosojL4TI/AAAAAAAAATQ/hdPomOCB65E/s640/blogger-image-1564868726.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Or looking to keep those holiday pounds from reaching your hips?
